Beautiful Games Releasing This Week: Ace Combat 8, Minecraft Dungeons II and More

It is another busy week for gamers, with plenty of new releases arriving across consoles and PC. From major franchises to smaller indie projects, there is something for almost every type of player.

The biggest names include Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, Minecraft Dungeons II, Gears of War: E-Day Premium Edition, MXGP 26, TOEM 2, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. There are also several interesting revivals and new games worth keeping an eye on.

Biggest Games Releasing This Week

Xbox fans get an early opportunity to play Gears of War: E-Day Premium Edition. The premium version costs £89.99 and includes early access and additional extras. The game takes players back to the origins of the series, following Marcus and Dominic years before the original Gears of War.

The standard version arrives the following week for £59.99 and will also be available through Game Pass.

Another major release is Minecraft Dungeons II, which launches on 29 September. The game introduces a new threat that puts two worlds in danger. Players can once again team up with up to four players for co-op action. It will be available across multiple platforms, including both Nintendo Switch systems.

Ace Combat 8 Takes to the Skies

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is another major release this week. It is the first main entry in the series in more than seven years, making it an important release for long-time fans.

Pre-order customers receive early access and the classic Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War from the PS2 era. Early reviews have also praised the game’s combat, music and story.

More Games to Watch

Several other releases make this week particularly crowded. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered arrives as a free upgrade for existing owners and includes both major expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. It also marks the game’s debut on Switch 2.

Gothic II Complete Classic is also expanding to more platforms, while Way of the Hunter 2 adds birds and smaller creatures alongside big-game hunting.

The week is not just about major franchises. RetroSpace and Moros Protocol both offer sci-fi first-person shooting with deliberately old-school visuals. Meanwhile, King’s Blade and Blades & Battles bring different takes on scrolling brawler gameplay.

Sports fans can look forward to MXGP 26 – The Official Game, which uses Unreal Engine 5 this year. There is also PUCKOFF: RELOADED for ice hockey fans and Muchi Muchi Pork & PinkSweets Boosted for shoot-’em-up fans.

Finally, Voltaire: The Vegan Vampire is making its way to consoles after previously appearing on PC in early access.

With major sequels, remasters, sports games and indie releases all arriving together, games releasing this week offer plenty of choice for players looking for something new.
